This coming week will be the closing week of Growl!, Doppelskope's new family friendly musical comedy, written by Chris Scheer and I with music by Toby Singer. This is the third show in the Grilogy premiered at Muhelnberg Summer Music Theatre. Puppet Playlist always reminds me of how happy I am to be a part of the puppetry community in NYC. There are so many open-hearted, friendly creators who perform in and who run this show. This Puppet Playlist was particularly fun for me for several reasons: -My brother Yoshie got together a ridiculous amount of musicians (ridiculously talented ones) and he created fun instrumentations for Billy Joel songs (the xylophone was a very nice touch). Puppeteers of America 2015 National Festival at UConn
Amy Rush brought Chris and I to the puppetry conference with her very cool project DEPICT-O-MAT. The project uses Advanced DEPICT-O-MAT Technology to combine nostalgia, improvisation and toy theater to develop and dispense several short, personalized stories. We set up the booth and performed for the first couple hours of the festival, and then we spent the rest of the festival meeting puppeteers of all ages, taking workshops and seeing performances.
